Nursing Action in the Face of Drug Consumption as a Public Health Problem

Abstract

In recent years, drug consumption in Mexico and worldwide has been on the rise. For people who use drugs, it poses significant physical, mental, and social health risks. In this context, one of the major challenges for nursing is providing comprehensive healthcare to individuals, families, and communities due to the risks associated with drug use and abuse. Given the increasing prevalence of this health issue, efforts are focused on prevention and early diagnosis. This essay aims to reflect on the actions and opportunities available to nursing professionals in addressing this problem, which is classified as a public health concern.
