Abstract

Introduction. The world is facing the pandemic identified as COVID-19; therefore, the scientific problem was raised: What are the clinicalepidemiological characteristics of the people who were diagnosed with COVID-19 in the SONGOLA MAYA municipality? Objective. To describe the clinical-epidemiological aspects of patients with a microbiological diagnosis of COVID-19 in the aforementioned municipality. Method. The current research is a type of descriptive study in patients with a diagnosis of COVID-19, belonging to the four health areas of the SONGO-LA MAYA Municipality in the period January 2021 until September 2021. By the methods: observation, interview, laboratory study and physical examination. SPSS was used to process some data. In summary, the current research responds to a quantitative methodology. Results. The most affected age group was those aged 49 to 50 years, with females prevailing. The most frequent comorbidity was hypertension and the symptoms were cough followed by decay and fever. Mortality (1.4%) prevailed in those over 60 years of age and in men. Conclusions. COVID-19 took the lives of 34 human beings in the municipality of SONGO-LA MAYA. 56.1% of the patients diagnosed with COVID-19 were women, the health area most affected by this pandemic was the MAYA, of the personal pathologies Arterial Hypertension prevailed (40.5%), of the symptoms the most frequent were: cough, asthenia and fever; and the serious state was the most representative.
