Abstract

Introduction. The problem of gender violence in the municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez, requires the design of Public Policies that seek its prevention, considering an area of opportunity that has not been properly exploited: education. Methodology. Pure research, with a multimodal approach, bibliographic and field research through a case study in a technical secondary school. Results. 289 third grade students were included, who showed the presence of sexist ideas, as well as their components. Discussion. The relationship between education and the prevention of gender violence is generally proposed, taking into account the idea that sexism is a risk factor for its exercise and acceptance,
as well as the role that the State must assume from the Public Administration, to solve this problem. Conclusions. Through the analysis of interviews, surveys and theoretical foundations the relevance of the public policy proposal is demonstrated, given the presence of sexist ideas among the student population, as well as the influence of the environment in the normalization of violence towards women. This proposal aligns to the objectives of the 2019-2021 municipal development plan, as well as the current study plans and programs, considering curricular autonomy in high schools.
